McClure's Gets Serious About Spuds
Over in Astoria, Sweet Afton has made a high art of frying McClure's pickles to crunchy, beer-battered perfection -- giving the company itself a few ideas, it seems.
Per Cool Hunting, the Detroit- and Brooklyn-based company has introduced a line of potato chips in collaboration with Detroit's Better Made. Seasoned with a briny mix of spices, they taste exactly like McClure's pickles, only drier and crunchier. Expect to see the $1.75 bags soon at the numerous retailers that carry McClure's products, though if you want the best deal you'll have to go to Michigan, where a 2.5-ounce bag costs only a buck.
