Michael Huyhn Wants to Go Global
Michael Huynh's considerable ambitions cannot, it seems, be confined to the five boroughs. As the Times reports in a whopping profile of the enterprising chef, Huynh's thinking on a more global scale: In addition to more Baoguettes and sit-down restaurants throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, he's planning to open a restaurant in Oakland, California, next year, sandwich and noodle shops in other parts of the U.S., a flagship restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, and a Vietnamese cooking school in Da Nang. Despite all of that, don't call him an empire-builder. Huynh protests, somewhat unconvincingly, that "I'm just a small businessman." picresized_1256178699_barbao
