Mile End Begins a Montreal Bagel Delivery Service
Now that Mile End's brought Montreal-style smoked meat to Brooklyn, can a Montreal-style bagel bakery be far behind? Peut-etre. But in the meantime, Mile End's Noah Bernamoff has devised a way to sooth errant cravings: In addition to selling bagels from Montreal's St-Viateur, he's just started a delivery service.
Grub Street reports that two of Bernamoff's high school buddies have teamed up to journey from Montreal to New York every Friday night, several dozen bagels in tow; they'll be available for pick up Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-ordering is strongly encouraged, and can be done by the dozen or half-dozen on the Mile End Montreal Bagel website.
