While potato latkes -- pancakes -- are the most popular of the finger-licking foods consumed during Hanukkah, sufganiyot should be the jewel of the party. The jelly-stuffed doughnuts are über-popular in Israel, but haven't reached their full potential on our shores. Until now.

Enter Mile End, the Brooklyn-based Montreal bagel and smoked meat purveyor. Come December they heat up the oil and sell their raspberry jelly-stuffed sufganiyot for catering and dinner service. Post-feast you'll want to indulge in a $7 order, which will yield three doughnuts practically bursting with filling. If you're taking them to-go it's recommended that you put in your order in advance. These babies fly like hotcakes sufganiyot.
