Momofuku Milk Bar to Ply Dessert-Phobes With Beer
Well, it's more or less official: Momofuku Milk Bar is indeed expanding to the other side of East 13th Street.
Eater suffered through a marathon CB3 meeting last night and watched as reps for the bakery convinced community board members that they need a full liquor license so that they can put hard alcohol in their baked goods and "fancy" shakes. They'll also include two beers on the menu to sate those who don't like dessert, though going to a bakery to drink sounds about as instinctive as going to a bar to eat cream puffs.
Regardless, the community board was sufficiently convinced to vote to approve the application, so expect to see construction-like activities at 251 East 13th Street sooner than later.
