More Ethnic Fast Food Coming to Midtown
The Chacarero Completo, a Gutbomb contender if ever there was one.
La Enciclopedia del Sandwich
On the heels of yesterday's news of the arrival of kolache in Midtown, Midtown Lunch reports that the neighborhood is getting a Chilean sandwich take-out spot called Barros Luco. Barros Lucos will be located in the former 99 Miles to Philly space at 52nd Street and Second Avenue, and offer items like the Chacarero, a traditional sandwich piled with steak or chicken and green beans, tomato, and mayonnaise, and Vinesas, Chilean hot dogs that come heaped with avocado, mayo, and any number of other ingredients. The restaurant, which is slated to open by the end of September, takes its name from the Chilean president who became famous for having a steak and melted cheese sandwich named after him.
