More on Danku's Disappearance: "They Left Owing Lots of Money to Lots of People"
Yesterday, Midtown Lunch reported that oddball Dutch eatery Danku's supposed "revamping" was actually an eviction. Today, Fork in the Road learns from an insider that the owners, identical twin brothers Filip and Bruno van Hoeck and their friend Karen Brink, "closed the door owing lots of money to lots of people.
"They live in the Plaza Hotel, on the top floor. They have [multiple houses in Europe], and polo ponies," said the tipster. "They're just three little rich kids who got set up with a restaurant... And it failed." Three little rich kids who have left, in addition to their landlord, a trail of disgruntled creditors in their wake.
