National Lobster Day: Ale-Infused Lobster Roll at Red Hook Lobster Pound
Today is National Lobster Day and to celebrate, Chef David Burke has created a Samuel Adams Summer Ale-Infused Lobster Roll for Red Hook. They will only sell the Summer Ale-infused lobster roll today.
The first 50 visitors to reach the Red Hook Lobster Pound trucks and reference, "Sam Adams!" will receive a free roll. The first person on the scene will also receive a Samuel Adams prize pack of summer goodies.
But for those unable to make it, here's a recipe for their mouth-watering roll.
Samuel Adams Summer Ale-Infused Lobster Roll Adapted from David Burke Serves 4
Ingredients: 16 ounces lobster meat (cooked) 1⁄4 cup chopped celery 1⁄4 cup chopped carrots 1⁄4 cup diced green apples 4 tsp tarragon 1⁄2 cup mayonnaise 2 Tablespoons cream cheese 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 4 scallions, finely sliced 4 rolls 1⁄4 cup Samuel Adams Summer Ale
Method: 1) Mix mayonnaise, cream cheese, and beer together in a mixing bowl 2) Mix cooked lobster meat, celery, carrots, apples, tarragon, mayonnaise mixture, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl 3) Place one quarter of the lobster meat mixture into each bun 4) Top with sliced scallions to taste
