NYC Icy Has Gone B.A.D. on Avenue A
NYC Icy, perhaps the most ephemeral and unpredictable of New York's frozen-treats purveyors, is back, and may even have a "semi-permanent" home.
EV Grieve reports that the flavored-ice stand, which last year spent the summer on Avenue A and East 7th Street, has opened for the season at 171 Avenue A. This location happens to be that of B.A.D. Burger, the restaurant where Keith Masco plans to serve breakfast (and arcade games) all day long.
Masco told Grieve that it will be NYC Icy's "semi-permanent home" at least until October, when the stand closes for the season. B.A.D. will subsequently feature some of the ices on its dessert menu, ensuring there will be a serving of permanent summer to complement the eternal French toast.
