You might be all debate-ed out, but if you're trying to do your civic duty and watch the presidential debates (this time about foreign policy), these debate-watching parties might make hearing about Big Bird's death a little less painful.
Galapagos Art Space; 16 Main Street, Brooklyn If you haven't watched either of the previous two debates here, it might be a good time to check out the art space in DUMBO. Galapagos has become the headquarters for politico watching in deep Brooklyn, with free entry starting at 8 p.m. and a 14-by-12 jumbo screen.
Pine Box Rock Shop; 12 Grattan Street, Brooklyn The Bushwick warehouse of rock is hosting a raffle during the debate; prizes are promised. The debate will be shown in the main bar, but you can hear the candidates in every nook and cranny through the killer surround sound.
Village Pourhouse / Side Bar; 64 Third Avenue, 120 East 15th Street The Union Square staple sports bars are dividing their constituents. Democrats head to Pourhouse for $5 Barack O-bombs, and Republicans can find like-minded drinkers at Side Bar for $5 Rum-ney shots. Drinkers must love puns.
Young Professionals United for Change at Arena; 135 West 41st Street Join the yuppies at midtown's Arena, where Roland Martin, CNN Analyst and host of Washington Watch, will interview debate watchers for TV One. Entry starts at 6 p.m.
Housing Works Bookstore; 126 Crosby Street For a more subdued crowd, Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo will offer debate-themed bingo and discounts on items in its café.
Gotham Comedy Club; 208 West 23rd Street Splurge on a $20 ticket to rub shoulders with Sarah Bernhard, Frank Conniff, and Sam Seder while you watch a different kind of comedy show at the legendary club. There's a two-drink minimum, but all proceeds go toward HeadCount, an organization designed to get people to vote.
