La Taqueria in Park Slope has closed completely after downsizing from sit-down restaurant to takeout joint in October. [Eater]

Carroll Gardens has a new public house. 61 Local occupies 2,000 square feet and offers local beer, wine, and kombucha on tap. [Grub Street]

Hudson Clearwater is bringing alfresco dining and cocktailing to the West Village, with a focus on locally farmed ingredients. [UrbanDaddy]

Albert Hall Tavern is a new gastropub in Hell's Kitchen. Expect lamb gnocchi, bone marrow, and something called "Screaming Oysters From Hell." [Thrillist]

A new Dixieland-themed sandwich shop and bar is opening in Cobble Hill. Van Horn Sandwich Shop will offer pulled pork and buttermilk fried chicken and seasonal cocktails. [TONY]

Brit-influenced gastropub Jones Wood Foundry offers wine-based cocktails by Raines Law Room's Meaghan Dorman, plus various savory pies. [TONY]

Chef John Fraser of Dovetail's new pop-up, What Happens When, promises to change its menu, soundtrack, and decor every 30 days for nine months. [TONY]

Niko will serve a sustainable omakase menu, as well as short ribs braised with a mustard glaze in a beef jerky dashi and octopus seared on a plancha with watermelon radish. [NY Times]
