Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.

Williamsburg's Vutera and its upstairs venue Rose Live Music are celebrating the venue's fifth and last year this week, as both are set to close at the end of February. [Wall Street Journal]

Ralph's, an old-school red-sauce joint in Hell's Kitchen, appears to be closed: It's papered over and the phone has been disconnected. [Zagat Buzz]

Mexico City-style taqueria El Tecolote in Williamsburg has shuttered shortly after it opened. The former incarnation of the place, Mercat Negre, also didn't last long. [Grub Street]

Former Gottino chef Jody Williams has opened a new French spot, Buvette, in the space once occupied by the Pink Tea Cup. [NY Times]

Ex-Spotted Pig chef Nate Smith has opened Dean Street, which will serve deviled eggs, sausages and stewed onions, and roast beef with horseradish. [NY Times]

Fifty Five, a resto-club-lounge with a second-floor hookah bar and a Moroccan menu, has set up shop not far from resto-lounge-club Lavo. [NY Times]

David Burke Kitchen has opened in the James New York Hotel. Expect market-driven American fare with some Burkean twists. [Eater]

Gaia Italian Café has debuted on the Lower East Side, with an all-Italian menu of panini and biscotti. [Bowery Boogie]

Pardes brings kosher Mediterranean to Boerum Hill, with a menu of smoked mushroom and onion pizza, eggplant gratin, and sardines with skordalia. [NY Times]
