Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.
Honeychiles', the Southern restaurant located in the Williamsburg dive bar the Charleston, has closed after just seven months. [Eater]
The huge contemporary Japanese, Japonais, in Gramercy, is shuttering after five years in business. [Eater]
Teriyaki Boy in Midtown West is calling it quits, leaving a dearth of good $3.99 lunch options in the Times Square area. [Midtown Lunch]
Aussie joint Wombat in Williamsburg appears to have closed its doors for good. [Grub Street]
New Caporal Fried Chicken and Shrimp in Washington Heights has given up the ghost, leaving neighbors devastated. [DNAInfo]
In Midtown, it doesn't look good for Washoku Café (a/k/a Negi-Ya). The signage has been taken down and they have stopped taking credit cards. [Midtown Lunch]
Osteria Cotta brings more Italian to the Upper West Side. Owner Suzanne Riva of La Folia and the now-defunct Irving Mill took on chef Andrew Kraft, formerly of 6th Street Kitchen. [Eater]
Hell's Kitchen is getting yet another wine bar. Medi Wine Bar will offer a number of by-the-glass options for $6 to $8. [Zagat Buzz]
Pachanga Patterson, a Mexican canteen from the team behind nearby Vesta, will offer moo shu duck tacos served on Tortilleria Nixtamal tortillas. [Grub Street]
Eighty Four has opened in the space formerly occupied by Mixx Lounge. The menu features dishes like Tea Smoked Brook Trout and Fennel Crusted Pork Loin. [Eater]
Imperial No. Nine has arrived. Sam Talbot's restaurant in the Mondrian Soho Hotel will specialize in seafood, such as fried oysters and king crab a la plancha. [NY Times]
Moomba has debuted in the old Vertuccio's space in Williamsburg. Expect wood-fired pizzas, small and shareable plates, and an extensive wine list. [Free Williamsburg]
