Open and Closed: Say Hello to Pour George, Goodbye to Wall Street Burger Shoppe

Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.

Bravo Gianni, a go-to Midtown Northern Italian, has closed after nearly 30 years in operation due to the chef and owner, Gianni Garavelli, suffering a stroke. [NY Times]

West Village bistro Paris Commune, which dates to 1979, is also closed for renovations and won't reopen for another two months. [Eater]

The three-year-old Wall Street Burger Shoppe, best known for its $175 burger, has closed and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection. [Crain's]

Hell's Kitchen gets an artisanal ice cream-and-cookie dough purveyor in Je & Jo. Their nine flavors include vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough. [TONY]

PizzArte will specialize in pizza and ... art? The pizzaiolo is from Naples and so are other dishes like polpettine and paccheri al baccala. [TONY]

Massachusetts import Steve's Craft Ice Cream is coming to Midtown. It will offer locavoric treats like Hudson Valley Fresh milk, Kombucha Brooklyn, and Ovenly baked goods. [TONY]

Josh Eden of Shorty's .32 is the consulting chef at the gastro-sports bar Pour George. Expect dishes like cod fritters with garlic cream and a steak tartare burger. [NY Times]

Crudo, by the team behind Candela Candela, has taken over the space vacated by Umberto's Clam House in Little Italy. [Eater]

The Dream Downtown Hotel's new steakhouse, Marble Lane, is now open with Manuel Trevino, formerly of Lavo and Travertine, in the kitchen. [Zagat Buzz]
