After almost five years in business, Top Chef alum Nikki Cascone's 24 Prince has closed. Cascone says she's already "working on a great project." Details to come. [Grub Street]

The three-level Casa Mezcal is opening on the Lower East Side. It will serve a vast selection of mezcals, including the owner's private label, as well as handmade tortillas. [UrbanDaddy]

Salumè is a new Soho sandwich shop that promises to turn out real paninis, which means the sandwiches are toasted, not pressed. [Time Out]

Ed's Lobster Bar Cart is coming to the financial district, serving not only Maine-sourced lobster rolls, but also soft-shell crab and grilled shrimp po'boys. [UrbanDaddy]

Arpeggio Food and Wine in Lincoln Center has opened Arpeggio Outdoors, an alfresco area featuring a "farm to table inspired summer menu." [Eater]

Pando Andonopulo, an owner of the market-restaurant Kashkaval, has opened Balkanika, specializing in, well, food from the Balkans, including Greece and Bulgaria. [NY Times]
