Open and Closed: Say Hello to Silver Lining, Goodbye to Asia de Cuba

Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week.

Asian fusion restaurant Asia de Cuba, in Morgans New York hotel, will close in October. The owners will replace it with a new concept. [Crains]

Leske's, the last Scandinavian bakery in Bay Ridge, closed back in May due to lease issues. [Lost City]

Pasita, a Venezuelan brick-oven pizza joint in the West Village, has shuttered after four years in business. [Zagat Buzz]

Joe's bar in the East Village appears to be closed. The shutter is down and the phone has been disconnected. [EV Grieve]

Silver Lining, the offshoot of cocktail bar Little Branch, has soft-opened. It will offer craft cocktails, small plates, and live jazz. [Grub Street]

The owners of the Peruvian rotisserie restaurants Pio Pio have opened Amaru, a pisco-focused bar, in a former Pio Pio space in Jackson Heights. [TONY]

East End Kitchen brings organic, locally sourced, sustainable American bistro fare to the Upper East Side, cooked by a Joël Robuchon alum. [Grub Street]

Upstate, in the East Village, will specialize in shucked oysters and other raw-bar items, as well as craft beer. [Grub Street]

Pan-Latin Calle Ocho, formerly on Columbus Avenue, has reopened on 81st Street on the Upper West Side. [NY Times]

Hotel Chantelle on the Lower East Side is getting a new rooftop restaurant. The roof is retractable so it'll be open year-round. [NY Times]

Beer Table's Midtown offshoot, Beer Table Pantry, will offer growlers of craft beer, like from Ithaca Beer Company and Southampton, as well as bottles. [TONY]

Prospect Heights welcomes Chuko, a new ramen joint by Morimoto alums Jamison Blankenship and David Koon. [TONY]

Maharlika, a new-wave Filipino restaurant, will be open from August 1 through January 2012 in the East Village. [TONY]

Flushing gets a new massive Asian market. Sky Foods features a huge organic section in its 36,000-square-foot space. [TONY]
