Opening Report: Casa la Femme returns
Cats have nine lives, and Middle Eastern restaurants have at least three. Egyptian eatery Casa la Femme (140 Charles Street) has resurfaced in the West Village, and we hear the belly dancers came with.
Soho has a new Italian joint in Lusso (331 W. Broadway). Owner Michael Carpinillo says food isn't so much traditional Italian as it is "Italian inspired."
Simon Sips Café (72 East 1st Street) has opened in the former Tasting Room Café space. The menu features beer, wine, espressor drinks, and Greenmarket small plates.
Just in time for that Hallmark-iest of holidays, the Nunu chocolate artisans have opened a flagship store in Brooklyn (529 Atlantic Avenue) to sell truffles, caramels, chews, crushes, and barks.
