Oslo Coffee Is Coming to Both the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop and the Upper East Side
A couple of tidbits to pass along regarding the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.
According to its Twitter feed, the East 7th Street store will open "in a few weeks." When it does, it will sell Oslo coffee. Although not as fetishized as Blue Bottle or Stumptown, the Williamsburg-based company, which bills itself as "Brooklyn's homespun artisan coffee roaster," has won plenty of acolytes since it was founded in 2003.
And it will likely accrue even more when it opens its first Manhattan location in Yorkville, at 422 West 75th Street: According to the Oslo website, the new place will open in "late summer" and bring the neighborhood "good espresso" -- meaning that the Upper East Side and the East Village will finally have something in common.
