Our Ten Best Park Slope Restaurants
The demographics may have changed over the years, but Park Slope has always been a residential neighborhood: Apartment buildings and brownstones line up cheek-to-jowl on quiet streets, which slope gently downhill from Prospect Park. As such, the area is populated by neighborhood restaurants—the most lovable of all establishments—the kinds that don't prompt cross-city journeys, but which turn out cared-for food, and cultivate their regulars. Are there destination restaurants in Park Slope? Two or three at the most. But the art of the neighborhood restaurant is alive and well.
For the purposes of this list, we've decided to define the neighborhood generously, including what is now called South Slope, and a tiny square of Windsor Terrace. Restaurants that are fair game for inclusion fall within the boundaries of Flatbush to the north (including the south side of Flatbush), 15th Street to the south, Prospect Park West to the east, and Fourth Avenue to the west (including the western side of Fourth).

* Not a restaurant, but she's one of the only dependable sources of good street food in the neighborhood. ** The only reason this isn't on the winner's list only because of the recent chef-shuffling, which makes it hard to know what you're going to get. *** Fake meat not recommended.
