Red Hook Welcomes Dry Dock Back to 424 Van Brunt Street
Looking good, Dry Dock!
When Hurricane Sandy lay into Red Hook, my neighborhood liquor store was pummeled. But Dry Dock picked up the pieces, saved the bottles it could, and quickly shuffled over to temporary digs farther up the street.
Last week, the shop quietly returned to its original spot on the corner of Van Brunt and Van Dyke. With a freshly rebuilt space, a splash of cute new wallpaper, and raised shelves, the shop is looking great, and it's a joy to see one more door back open where it should be. (With a little luck, Sunny's will be next; the beloved dive bar is planning a June reopening.)
