While it's no secret that the Bowery is at risk of choking to death on restaurants, EV Grieve has kindly taken the time to catalog exactly how crowded the street has become.

Between East Houston and East 4th Street, there are now 12 restaurants, with one occupying or scheduled to occupy almost every corner. So far, the retirement home on the corner of Bowery and East 5th has gone untouched, but it probably won't be long before some enterprising individual tries to requisition the ground floor for an exclusive little boîte specializing in local, organic "Bowery" prunes and sustainably sourced Celebrex.
