She's Baaaack... Martha Stewart Returns to Her Board of Directors Seven Years After That Whole Insider Trading Thing
Just seven and a half years after resigning from the board of directors at her eponymous company, Martha Stewart has been reappointed. The resignation, of course, came after she was convicted of obstruction of justice in an insider-trading case.
According to MarketWatch, the appointment was expected after Stewart returned to the company last year as its chief editorial, media, and content officer. Stewart had agreed to a five-year ban from running a publicly traded company as part of her settlement. Her return to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's board is expected to have a positive effect on shareholder confidence.
