Smokey Burger Serving Elk Patties in Midtown; Suzume Ramen in Williamsburg
Orange Leaf froyo comes to Murray Hill.
Burgers aren't just patties on a bun at newly opened Smokey Burger Organic in Midtown West. The new lunch spot offers burgers of the elk, crab, bison, lamb, salmon, and even ostrich variety, not to mention the boring beef, chicken, and turkey options. The menu claims all the ingredients are ammonia-free, grass-fed, antibiotic-free, bleach-free (we hope so!) and in keeping with the restaurant's name, all natural. Just be prepared to pay for your super healthy well-bred burger. Prices range from $13.95 all the way up to $21.95. 339 W. 44th St.
Brooklyn got another ramen bar to help us warm up. Suzume is right off the Lorimer stop and serves sushi, maki rolls, small plates, and reasonably priced ramen ($10-$13). Aside from the traditional pork belly and scallion bowl, other options include a quirky apple noodle ramen with Brussels sprouts and pickled carrots, a spicy butter tofu ramen in a pork or miso broth, and a roasted salmon ramen. 545 Lorimer St. Brooklyn
Oklahoma-based froyo chain Orange Leaf opened its first Manhattan location in Murray Hill on Thursday. There are already two outposts in Staten Island and another Manhattan spot is set to open soon on the Upper East Side. 608 Second Ave.
Flushing favorite Daheen Wang Mandoo opened another location in Koreatown on 32nd Street. With cheap Mandoo buns for only $2 a pop, the Korean dumpling spot will give its neighbor Gallery 32 a run for its money. 2 W. 32nd St.
Amigos is the newest pop-up restaurant in Morningside Heights. Restaurateur Jeremy Wladis and Spencer Rothschild turned former Italian restaurant Il Cebreo into a Mexican hot spot that will rotate through chefs. First up is Alex Garcia, followed by Chef Adrian Leon who is slated to start next month. Expect Amigos to stay put until summer. 2888 Broadway
