St. Marks TKettle Taking Over BBQ Chicken Space, Will Serve Taiwanese Food

Anyone dashing down St. Marks today to grab a Col-Pop special from BBQ Chicken was sorely disappointed.

No, there were no more to-go cups holding both soda and popcorn chicken (what else does one need?), because the South-Korean-based fried chicken chain has gone out of business, and TKettle, the bubble tea specialist that previously shared the space, is expanding.

A sign on the door, punctuated with hearts and smiley faces, noted that the expanded, full-service TKettle will open in three weeks, serving "irresistible" Taiwanese food, but did not specify more than that.

A Chowhound post from 2008 sung the praises of the place's dumplings, so perhaps there is reason for optimism.

TKettle is expanding, and excitable
