Steak Shoppe Gets Slaughtered
Goodbye to all of that.
Well, that was fast: Scarcely a month after we noted that Permanent Brunch & Burger had mutated into Steak Shoppe, the cattle-centric eatery has closed.
Grub Street has posted a photo of the restaurant showing the gates pulled down and the window emblazoned with a "Marshal's Legal Possession" sticker of shame. It seems that the landlord now has "legal possession of these premises pursuant to Warrant of Civil Court," which loosely translates as "we are no longer accepting reservations." But at least Lesly Bernard's misbegotten feedlot can claim one victory: Although it was a close race, it beat out the 10-week-old Beba to win this week's Most Premature Restaurant Death award.
