Taco Armistice Day
As of Tuesday, the Parks Department has awarded the Red Hook Ballfields vendors a six year permit. The official press release and details after the jump.
Obviously, this is very good news. But as for when we'll actually be able to get a pupusa in our hot little hands, that remains unclear.
Bureaucracy in action: First the vendors have to sign the contract, then the city's law office has to sign off on it, then the controller's office has to register the contract. Then the Parks Department gives the green light.
But wait, there's more. The vendors still have to work with the health department to get the relevant permits and equipment.
Official word is that the parks departments "hopes" that the ballfield vendors will be up and running by the first day of the soccer league season.
