Terri's Green Power Smoothie, One of Our 100 Favorite Dishes
No. 54: Green power smoothie from Terri
Our commitment to the juice trend that's swept this city is peripheral (we draw the line at cleanses), but sometimes we need a fruit and vegetable detox after a particularly hedonistic weekend. One of our favorite ways to get that is with the green power smoothie from vegan sandwich shop Terri. The spot blends together kale, pear, banana, almond butter, and soymilk, which makes a smoothie that's sweet, rich, and wholesome--and filling enough to constitute a whole meal. Really just want juice? Opt for the perfect pear, a mix of cucumber, spinach, and celery sweetened by the ambrosial nectar of pear.
Later this year, we'll pen our Best of New York issue, our annual love letter to what's great in this town. When that paper hits the streets, you'll find our picks for the very best this city has to offer when it comes to dozens of cuisines, restaurants, dishes, and drinks. Until then, you can get a taste of our contenders as we count down, in no particular order, our 100 favorite dishes from around the boroughs, a list of laudable eats worth tracking down right now.
