The Brooklyn Star Dimmed by Fire
The Brooklyn Star
Some bad news out of Williamsburg: Joaquin Baca's Brooklyn Star has been shuttered by fire. The blaze tore through the restaurant last night, according to Eater. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained by either the restaurant's staff or the building's occupants.
Baca, a David Chang alum, opened the Brooklyn Star last year, and won over comfort food lovers and brunch skeptics alike with his shrimp and grits and Dr. Pepper ribs. Baca expects the restaurant to remain closed for a few months -- a message on its website reads "WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR A SPELL PENDING RECONSTRUCTION. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THE PAST AND HOPE TO SERVE YOU AGAIN REAL SOON."
