The Commons Chelsea's Artichoke Toast
Some of your daily serving of veggies, on toast
Vegetarian toast lovers in Chelsea should check out the Commons Chelsea, a tiny café on Seventh Avenue that opened last December. It serves an all-vegetarian selection of toasts: an avocado spread with cumin, olive oil, lemon juice, and chili flakes is one topping; slices of cucumber and hummus is another.
The artichoke toast is definitely worth trying: It's a hearty, garlicky mash of artichoke hearts, cannellini beans, roasted garlic, and Grana Padano cheese on top of a crispy baguette. Also, for all you folks in Chelsea offices, there's good news: You can now get your toasts -- as well as a selection of sandwiches and pastries -- delivered.
