The Daily Meal Ranks America's Top Restaurants
Per Se is named the best restaurant in New York.
Deborah Jones/The Daily Meal
Always a friend to listsicles, The Daily Meal has come up with a new list, ranking the top 101 restaurants in the country. There aren't many shockers included, and New York City fared quite well, proving its gastronomic superiority once again to the world (or at least the blogosphere). So who nabbed top honors?
French Laundry nabbed the No. 1 spot, but the Big Apple's Per Se (No. 2), Le Bernardin (No. 3), Daniel (No. 4), Blue Hill at Stone Barns (No. 6), Jean Georges (No. 8), Masa (No. 11), Peter Luger (No. 13), Katz's Delicatessen (No. 14), wd~50 (No. 15), Babbo (No. 16), Momofuku Ssäm Bar (No. 25), Del Posto (No. 28), L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (No. 40), Casa Mono (No. 40), the Four Seasons (No. 43), Locanda Verde (No. 48), and Marea (No. 48) all made it into the top 50. After that, Grand Sichuan, Sripraphai, 21 Club, and Bar Masa made the cut.
All in all, an expected list with mostly old favorites but still a few questionable choices (sorry, Casa Mono, but why are you here?), and a nearly complete lack of Brooklyn restaurants. Readers, any restaurants you thought were shafted? Opine in the comments!
