The Food Network Shows Brian Boitano Another Season of Love
The Food Network has by now so thoroughly abandoned any pretense of building its programming around actual professional chefs that a show like What Would Brian Boitano Make? seems less a glaring anomaly than an embodiment of the channel's unstated belief that cooking is a matter of personality, not food. A flamboyant former Olympic figure skater may not seem to be the most qualified culinary authority, but who cares when you can watch him dance around the kitchen and feed bacon cups to a female roller derby team? Food Network executives apparently want more bacon cups: They've just ordered 10 more episodes after Boitano's four-episode first season run.
