The Food of the Philippines (PHOTOS)
All photos by Rob Christensen
Last week, the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, the Philippine Department of Tourism, Philippine Consulate General of New York, and Philippine Trade and Investment Center put on a drinks and tapas tasting with chefs cooking Filipino cuisine here in New York City. Pig and Khao's Leah Cohen, Maharlika and Jeepney's Miguel Trinidad, Ugly Kitchen's Ron Ancheta, and Lumpia Shack's Neil Syham turned out tastes like sisig tacos, dinuguan (a meat and offal stew), and rice cakes, each of which paired to Filipino beverages like San Miguel beer. Fork photographer Rob Christensen caught some of the action, and he brings back a batch of photos of the food.
