The Village Voice's Chantal Martineau Will Guest Star at Fatty Johnson's Tomorrow
Fatty Johnson's, the pop-up bar from Zak Pelaccio in the old Cabrito space, has been playing host to many of the city's finest bartenders while offering a menu of porky delights (Our Man Sietsema enjoyed the burger, and we're especially partial to the chicken soup chock full of chewy hand-cut noodles, pork sausage, dill, schmaltz sauce, chile, and garlic -- a sort of Asian Jewish penicillin). The bartender lineup has been impressive, but tomorrow it gets even better. Our own Chantal Martineau will be behind the bar serving up a tasty libation called the Norman Mailer.
Chantal will be joined by Matt Rodbard of Metromix and Jordana Rothman of Time Out New York, who will be pouring a Marita Mule and the TONY Pond Hopper punch, respectively. The event begins at 5 p.m. and goes until midnight. So come out and celebrate the city's best alt-weekly and its superstar writer/bartender.
