The Waiting Boyfriend at the Dressing Room is the Drink of the Week
It's Friday, and that means it's time to start thinking about your weekend drinking plans (and also your weekend calendar plans--check out our events round-up for guidance). Tropical Storm Andrea is really killing our patio buzz right now, so this week's drink of the week is something you can sip from the comfort of the indoors: The Waiting Boyfriend at the Dressing Room on the Lower East Side.
Giving entirely new meaning to retail therapy, the Dressing Room is part boutique and part bar, so it kindly offers cheap sustenance for any significant other left reluctantly trailing a shopper. The Waiting Boyfriend is a $5 beer-shot combo that nets you a High Life and a generous pour of whiskey. Agave spirits more your style? The Waiting Girlfriend variation matches Mexican lager to tequila for the same price.
By the way, you don't have to be on a spending spree to enjoy this drink of the week; at night, the Dressing Room is more bar than store, and people hang out watching campy movies while sipping drinks. Just beware--Waiting Boyfriends are a cheap way to tie one on, and then pulling out the credit card to purchase the shop's goods gets much, much easier.
