Enjoying a much-deserved day off? Need a distraction from the fact that a lot of other people have today off? Here's a guide to five excellent food and drink events taking place this week.

Tiki Mondays: Winter Solstice Edition, Pouring Ribbons, Avenue B, Monday, 6 p.m.

ZZ Clam Bar's Brian Miller brings the tiki torch to Avenue B this week for a winter rendition of his popular cocktail party. The master of the mai tai will have a selection of classic island delights for real-life Jack Sparrows, and guests are encouraged to break out their best island wear. Look for piña coladas, jungle birds, and of course the zombie, with Miller ready to delve into the history of any drink, if you're interested in cocktail conversation.

One Night Dinner Series: Rolf and Daughters, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, 207 Second Avenue, Tuesday, 5:45 p.m./12:30 a.m.

One of Nashville's most popular eateries is making a one-night appearance in the Big Apple. As part of the restaurant's guest chef series, Rolf and Daughters will offer dinner by chef Philip Krajeck to give New Yorkers a taste of Southern food made with European technique. Beverage pairings are included in the cost of the dinner — $125, including tax and tip — and there are two separate seating times available to choose from.

Eighth Annual Metzgete, Trestle on Tenth, now until January 24, 5:30 p.m.

Partake in this special dinner any night until January 24. This festival celebrates one of Swiss chef/owner Ralf Kuettel's childhood traditions: butchering a pig and then cooking its various parts into a number of dishes. The menu includes a mountain of house-made sausages, braised pork belly, sauerkraut, and additional Swiss delights. Guests can also opt for the more adventurous items, like head cheese and pork terrine, with Swiss wines and beer providing a traditional thematic pairing. The special feast is available for dinner only, and reservations can be made by contacting the restaurant.

Dan and Max's Snacktacular! Fritzl's Lunch Box, 173 Irving Avenue, Brooklyn, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Max Sussman, most recently of The Cleveland, teams with Fritzl's Dan Ross-Leutwyler for an evening of inventive snacks and beers. The event is an all-you-can-eat feast, with a focus on off-the-radar ciders and beers as recommended pairings. Tickets are $65, and the price includes tax and tip.

Learn How to Entertain in Style With Macy's & Chef Marcus Samuelsson, Macy's Downtown Brooklyn (Furniture Department), 422 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, Friday, 6 p.m.

Instead of hitting up happy hour immediately after work, consider attending this free event featuring Marcus Samuelsson of Red Rooster Harlem. The celebrity chef will demonstrate how to party in style, with tastings included. Attendees can also access a special Macy's promotion and receive a signed copy of the chef's book Marcus Off Duty. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
