This Week's Four Best Happy Hour Specials
April, with her intermittent beautiful days interspersed with rainstorms, is such a tease. Let's all agree to embrace the spring weather by wetting our whistle on the cheap.
Georgia's Eastside BBQ, 192 Orchard Street
From 3 to 5 p.m., break out your inner hipster and order a $2 PBR or High Life (or get both for only four bucks). Since this is a BBQ joint, you'll also find a $5 deal on all sandwiches, so choose from pulled pork, rib, and fried chicken, among others, for a hearty early dinner (or late lunch). And since you'll be on the Lower East Side, you can duck out and find another drink deal in a bar nearby
The Diamond, 43 Franklin Street, Brooklyn
Shuffleboard tournaments, reggae nights, and a ton of incredibly potent beers make this Greenpoint waterfront bar worth the long walk from the subway. From 5 to 7 p.m., the bar shaves a few bucks off select beers, with many ranging in the $3 to $5 category during happy hour. See, too, the $3 wine, and take in the quirky Brooklyn decor while you wait to jump on the game table.
Mr. Dennehy's, 63 Carmine Street
If you're looking for a sweet deal on margaritas, head to this West Village pub immediately after work. From 4 to 8 p.m., 16-ounce glasses of the delicious beverage are $10, while wine clocks in at $6. The spacious interior has plenty of TVs where you can catch early season baseball as well as a full menu of bar food favorites for when the drunk munchies hit.
The Creek and the Cave, 10-93 Jackson Avenue, Queens
A great spot to catch live stand up comedy requires a little liquid fun for the audience, and that's exactly what you'll find here. From 4 to 7 p.m., bartenders mix up two-for-one margaritas for $7. If you're hungry, you'll also find happy hour deals on snacks like buffalo wings and fried pickles that'll leave you with money left over for a PBR -- or the Sopranos pinball machine that was recently installed.
