Jean Georges Vongerichten's son, Cedric, is taking over the kitchen at his dad's West Village restaurant, Perry Street. Erik Battes, who had been at the helm, will stay within the Vongerichten family of restaurants. [The Feedbag]
Justin Toth, who had been a sous-chef at Thor and later at 5 Ninth, has taken over from Kevin Pomplun as chef de cuisine at 5 Ninth. Pomplun left the restaurant a few weeks ago to start Picnick Smoked. [Grub Street]
The name of Danny Meyer's much anticipated new trattoria, set to open in November at the Gramercy Park Hotel, has been announced. It will be called Maialino, which means "little pig." [Grub Street]
