Union Market Opens Third Location on Court Street, Bringing More Upscale Groceries to Cobble Hill
Whole Foods may not be coming to Gowanus anytime in the near future, but On Monday, Union Market will bring its own brand of aspirational grocery shopping to the neighborhood a few blocks north.
Cobble Hill Blog reports that the Park Slope-based chainlet is opening its third location on Court Street, in a space formerly occupied by Blockbuster Video. The store, whose website addresses its somewhat astronomical prices with a curt "[c]heap food costs less because it's worth less...we won't sell it to you," will offer a wide range of organically correct produce, cheese, meats, seafood, dry goods, and prepared foods. But unlike at the Trader Joe's just up the street, it won't be cheap, got it?
