Super hunter, planter, and gatherer Hank Shaw will celebrate the release of his new book Duck, Duck, Goose via dinner and a signing. Annisa chef Anita Lo will serve a five-course tasting menu with dishes like sauteed goose breast with barley and celery root. Indelible Fundraiser, Mast Brothers Chocolate Factory, 111 North Third Street, Brooklyn, Monday, 8:30 p.m.
Partying in a chocolate factory is a pretty sweet deal, and it gets even sweeter when you add in a seven-course tasting experience--and specialty cocktails--inspired by the Indelible Dance Company's upcoming performance. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased via the event's ticketing website.
Chicken and Champagne Dinner, Red Rooster, 310 Lenox Avenue, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.
For this feast, Red Rooster will feature a variety of chicken dishes paired to glasses of bubbly. Popular combinations like chicken and waffles as well as chili orange glazed chicken wings will be served small plates style; $20 nets you three plates and a glass of Paul Goerg champagne. Enjoy your dinner over the featured live jazz music; reservations can be made by contacting the restaurant at 212-792-9001.
Aki Matsuri, Brooklyn Brewery, 79 North 11th Street, Brooklyn, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
The Gohan Society's latest culinary presentation focuses on Izakaya tastings from a selection of the city's Japanese and globally inspired restaurants. Restaurants like Morimoto will dish out their innovative interpretations of Japanese pub fare, Soba-ya will feature a live soba-making demonstration, and you'll have a chance to bid on a selection of prizes--including dinner for four at the James Beard House--during a silent auction. Individual tickets are $125 and include all food and beverage tastings.
