What to Drink at L'Oubli: The Oyster Shot
Each week in The Daily Shot, we have ourselves a drink that we think you should try, too.
The drink: Oyster Shot
The bar: L'Oubli, 188 Suffolk Street
The price: $6
The ingredients: Vodka, secret Bloody Mary mix, and an oyster, served in a shot glass.
The buzz: The first sip is decidedly oyster-less, but the bartender has a great excuse for this: There's more than an ounce of vodka in there, silly, and oysters don't float. Still, there are chewy horseradish bits floating around for your masticating pleasure. But it's the second sip that has the sweet stuff: a plump, briny bivalve to ride the wave of Bloody Mary mix down your gullet. The mix is a little sweeter than necessary, but this shot has a nice kick to it and rewards you with some protein to fuel the rest of your evening.
