What to Eat As You Rock Out to Cee Lo and Santigold at This Weekend's Afro-Punk Festival [Updated]
Beats and eats ...
This weekend, Afro-punk fans will take to Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn for a two-day dance fest featuring the musical stylings of Cee Lo Green, Janelle Monae, Santigold, Das Racist, and -- oh, yeah -- Fishbone. Hurricane, be damned. But whatever will sustain you as you shimmy and pogo your little heart out in the late-summer humidity? Why, a gaggle of food trucks, of course.
Indeed, as of yesterday, the event is on as scheduled despite weather reports. Provided nothing changes over the next two days, there will be caffeinated offerings from the Joyride Truck, burgers and fries from the recently re-minted Frites 'N' Meats, curries and kati rolls from the Desi Food Truck, freshly squeezed juices from Green Pirate Juice, and more. Of course, don't expect any cookies or cream from the Cookies 'N' Cream truck -- it peddles designer T-shirts. Forget you!
UPDATE: It's canceled... like everything else this weekend!
