A Homemade Korean Feast: Hands-On Cooking & Wine Pairing Astor Center Wednesday, September 8, 6 p.m. Learn how to make classic Korean dishes in this $125 class, such as japchae, clear noodles and vegetables with toasted sesame flavor; bulgogi, a garlicky marinated beef; scallion pancakes; and a seafood and tofu stew using the five Asian principal flavors of salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and hot. And no Korean meal is complete without banchan. On the menu: steamed eggplant, kimchi-stuffed cucumber, marinated spinach, and spicy seaweed salad.

Bitches Brew Dinner Eleven Madison Park Thursday, September 9, 7 p.m. To mark the 40th anniversary of Miles Davis's Bitches Brew, Dogfish Head Brewery's Sam Calagione has launched a beer called Bitches Brew: a bold, dark imperial stout-meets-honey beer with gesho root. This $155 four-course meal will feature five Dogfish beers, including Namaste and Bitches Brew, paired with chef Daniel Humm's acclaimed fare and Davis's genre-bending jazz fusion. A Miles Davis lithograph is included.

10th Annual Celebration of Connecticut Farms Laurel Ridge Farm September 12 Celebrate the fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, dairy, and wines of the state of Connecticut at this annual event. Graze the various stands for samples of organic pizza, goat cheese, and local craft beer as you take in the fresh farm air. Tickets are $150 per person, and half of that is a tax-deductible donation. Proceeds from the event will go toward preserving the state's dwindling farmland.
