Geese Gone Wild! Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center Saturday, October 30, noon New York State has plans to fix its Canada goose problem by slaughtering 170,000 birds and disposing of them in a landfill. According to hunter and locavorist activist Jackson Landers, the birds are a local, free-range, hormone- and antibiotic-free source of free meat. Slow Food NYC is hosting an afternoon of cooking and eating Canada goose and discussing how to safely do so at home -- even if you live in a New York apartment. The tasting will include pairings with New York State wines.
