Hungover Happy Hour Trivia Night Housing Works Used Book Café April 12, 7 p.m. Bring your friends or make new ones at this trivia night for a great cause. There will be extra-cheap drinks and extra-smart questions, and the chance to win books and beer. Proceeds from the night, like those of all Housing Works activities, go toward homeless New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS.
Organic Wine Dinner Gilt at the New York Palace Hotel April 14, 6:30 p.m. Join "real" wine importer Joe Dressner and Gilt's wine director Patrick Cappiello for an evening of organic, biodynamic, and natural wines from Europe. Executive Chef Justin Bogle will prepare a $275 six-course menu using organic ingredients, and each course will be paired with a flight of three wines selected by Dressner and Cappiello. Expect bottles from Alice et Olivier de Moor, P. Pacalet, Dard & Ribo, and Clos Rougeard.
Sparkling Tax Day Alloro April 15 Give yourself a break this tax season with super-cheap glasses of Prosecco at Alloro through the 14th, then free bubbles on Tax Day proper. Through the 14th, pay just $4.15 for a glass of Italian sparkling wine. Then, on the 15th, diners get a complimentary glass with dinner... which might be more than you're getting out of the government.
