The market gets a twist this weekend as chefs who participated in the penning of the Brooklyn Chef's Table cookbook will celebrate the upcoming release by talking recipes and serve dishes from the book. Sample barbecue chicken with Brooklyn white sauce from Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue pitmaster Matt Fisher, hazelnut cookies from Ovenly's Erin Patinkin and Agatha Kulaga, and homemade burrata cheese with tomato jam and basil salt from Anella'sTodd Andrews.
Co. Restaurant and Sixpoint Brewery's Fourth Annual Pizza and Beer Pairing, Co., 230 Ninth Avenue, Saturday, 3 p.m.
Relive your college study session diets with a dose of pizza and beer as you take part in a five-course carb-centric pairing for $60. Brews like "Global Warmer" Imperial Red Ale -- a beer with flavors of toffee and raisins -- will pour next to pies topped with gruyere and caramelized onion or Brussels sprouts, mozzarella, and chestnuts. Vermont Wild Food Buffet Supper & Discussion w/ Nova Kim and Les Hook, Jimmy's No. 43, 43 East 7th Street, Sunday, 6:30 p.m.
Nova Kim and Les Hook will get "wild" in a discussion centered around the threat of commercialization and how it can impact your food sources. After the hour-long presentation on wild food, tuck into a buffet of wild watercress, blue pearl oyster mushrooms, and grain risotto from Vermont. Drinks are available for purchase; you'll find Vermont brews like Long Trail and Whetstone Orchard King to pair with your New England-sourced dinner. Tickets for the presentation and buffet supper are $35.
