Windows on the World's Kevin Zraly Says This Is the "Golden Age of Wine"
Kevin Zraly's Windows on the World Complete Wine Course just published its 25th edition, and Zraly, who's been teaching wine courses for the past 32 years, thinks that there's never been a better time to be a wine consumer. As he tells The Wall Street Journal, we're living in a "golden age of wine," thanks to modern technology, an understanding of which grape varieties are suited to specific types of soil, and smarter consumers. His pick for the still-distant future's next big wine region? China. "Do they have the land? Yes. Do they have manpower? Yes. Do they have the tradition? They are the largest grower of table grapes in the world, but they are not making them into wine. Maybe it's a time that the world of wine is taking a breather."
