Winter Brooklyn Flea Gets Fed
I was literally just walking around Fort Greene dreaming of the snow melting, spring coming, and the flea market returning when this news came in. As you may or may not know, the Brooklyn Flea has relocated to an indoor space in Dumbo for the winter, calling itself the Winter Antiques Market. I haven't managed to check it out in Dumbo, but maybe I will now that I know that they're bringing some of the food vendors with them.
Starting next weekend, some of the flea food vendors will be setting up shot across from the antiques markets at 76 front street. Kumquat Cupcakery, McClure's Pickles, Hot Blondies Bakery, Choice Market and Fine + Raw Chocolate are said to be participating. That all sounds quite tasty, but we have to wonder if the Red Hook vendors and their pupusas will also be there. And what of the portable wood-burning pizza oven. We're guessing some things will have to wait until spring.
