Year of the Takeout: Day 15
Shrimp and Chinese Vegetables from Wai Lee (940 Amsterdam Avenue, 212-666-3733)
OK, just a couple of quick things. The term "Chinese vegetables" at Wai Lee means loads of carrots and some bok choy doused in sauce. Usually, this is something to kvetch about, but the shrimp have such a succulent center and a crisp -- yet gently breaded -- exterior, giving each bite a perky pop. You are left quite satisfied with the $6.25 dish.
