Year of the Takeout: Day 19
Chicken With Almond Ding from Zhong Hua (23 West 100th Street, 212-932-3377)
What is almond ding chicken, you might ask?
Here, it's Kung Pao-style but with a bunch of nuts on top, and that's all you really can say about the selection.
It ain't bad, but it ain't special -- worth eating, sure, but maybe not worth ordering again.
It should be noted, though, that Zhong Hua has fried rice with ham, which is a popular Caribbean approach to the variety.
