Year of the Takeout Day 64: East Met West
Szechuan [sic] Sea Treasures from East Met West (752 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, 718-218-7777)
At East Met West, this $9.50 pick comes with shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab(?), and a veggie medley tossed in a chili-flake-flecked soy sauce.
Here's what mystifies: Lobster tends to be more expensive than crab, so it doesn't really make sense why the portion features plentiful chunks of the luxurious crustacean -- whereas the crab is completely suspect (and likely spelled with a "k") and comes in soylent, over-salted, seafood-flavored slices.
At any rate, it's not a bad choice for a seafood dish with the word "treasure" in the name.
